Diversity Shines Here

She was riding her bicycle when she was aware that the sky shone brightly. She was happily riding the bicycle trough the crowd way. Today she was very happy while riding her bicycle she took a breath and smiled enjoying the fresh air in the morning. Once in a while she looked at the sky, the combination colors of  blue, yellow, orange, and white, that made the sky as a rainbow. The birds began to go to seek the meal happily after took a sleep at night.

Then she parked the bicycle when she arrrived at the place she wanted. She slowly parked the bicycle when she went.

“Hei, Seona. How are you?” Someone suddenly patted her soulder.

Seona looked at the girl in front of her then she smiled. “Hello, Damai. I am very good. It is been a long time since the last time we met.” And then they embraced each other.

“Yes. Of course you are so busy with your music. By the way about music I want to offer you something.” Said Damai while smiling.

Seona said “What is that?”

“Our community that named “Tomorrow Will Be Better” will held a charity activity at the orphanage to sympathize them and we want you to sing and play some songs. We will give some facilities of music instrument and then you can play and sing some songs. How is it?”

Seona was very happy and agree with it. “Okay.”                                                                        

“Tomorrow please come here again. We want to have a meeting and discussing about charity. Thank you for your participation, Seona.”

Seona smiled and said. “Your welcome. Okay, I have to go now.”

Seona was a little girl that good in playing music especially piano. She often join concert and came to the invitation and sharing some experience because music was part of her life. There were so many people who amazed because she was young and she could sing and play some songs very well than the other.

Tomorrow as Damai said to Seona they would hold a meeting to discuss about charity programm and then she came to the room of the meeting. When she arrived the meeting had began. And then she sat down next to Damai.

“We have wait for you.” Damai whispered to Seona.

Seona took a deep breath slowly. “I am very sorry, my bicycle was in trouble.”

And then Damai stood up. “Okay my friends, she is Seona. Someone who we wait for. She will be a part of the charity programm and will sing and play some songs for the children at the orphanage.” Everybody in the room gave applouse to her.

“Seona please introduce your self.” Said someone who sat in front of Seona. He was the leader of the community.

Seona finally stood up. “Hallo everybody. I am Seona. My best whises and please advice me me.”

“Seona, we thanks a lot of you because you have help us to success this programm. Okay my friends, beside we show the music from Seona, we want to present the theater show and then we want to give some donation and some story book for the children. Do you understand?” that boy looked at everyone in the room tried to make everyone understand.

And they said. “Yes.”

After arrived at the home, Seona perpared some songs that she wanted to sing and play in the charity programm. She played piano very good, she began to play tuts by tuts. The more she sang and played the song, she convinced that the children would like it so much.

After playing some songs she wanted to go to the base of  Tomorrow Will Be Better because there are any meeting and some show from the teather team. As she did with her bicycle, she rode the bicycle to the base of Tomorrow Will Be Better. She imagined that tomorrow there would be the programm she waited for to sing and play some song free of charge was her dreaming. The dream to see somebody who had no good feitans sharing something to them now well came true.

Seona parked the bicycle and then came to the room and met with Raka and Damai.

“Hello Seona, are you ready for tomorrow?” said Damai while smiling.

“I am ready. Of course.” Said Seona while showed her thumb.

“Okay, let’s we start the meeting and then we can see the performance of our theater team.” Said Raka while smiling to Damai and Seona.

Finally, the meeting began. Raka as the leader opened the meeting and started to discussing about the charity programm that will be done tomorrow. Raka is plan something that must be done tomorrow to all the members of the team. After finishing the meeting, the next programm was the performance from the theater team. The members of theater team came forward in front of the Tomorrow Will Be Better’s members and showed the good action. The title of the theater show was Unity in Diversity. Seona was very proud to this drama because the story was very good and we could find the moral value about this drama.

After the performance of theater team finished, everyone in the room stood up and gave applouse to the theater team.

“Your performance is very good, friends! Of course they will like it!”

The audiences were amazed after they saw the performance from theater team. But on the other side, Seona sad and afraid. Will her performance in playing music would as good as the performance of theater team?

Seona came to Raka. “I cannot play the music as well as the theater team. I am very afraid the children do not like the music I play.”

Raka shocked to hear what Seona said. And the he said. “Why? Why do yo feel afraid suddenly?”

“I feel that the performance of theater team will be better than my performance. They, the team of theater have performance that attract the audiences. The audiences very enjoy the performance very much. What about the children in the orphanage? Of course they will more enjoy the performance of the theater team than my performance in playing music. By doing show, I would like to resign and will not join the charity programm.”

Raka understood what Seona felt. “Seona, you have no confidence enough. Okay,we are here as a team even tough we have a different duty, we are a unity and without you, the programm that we have organized is meaningless. The theater team of course is good. But, without you, the grogramm that we have planned is not complete. Do you remember about in the motto of Bhineka Tunggal Ika? The meaning of Bhineka Tunggal Ika is the unity in diversity. You cannot  compere your performance with the performance of theater team because that is a different performance. So please do not resign. We need you very much to success the programm. Please remember that we are as a team, one unity.”

Seona was doubt about it. She felt very afraid and did not know what would she do. “But I am very afraid. I am afraid that my performance as not good as the performance of theater team.”

Raka took a deep breath. “It is not about talking about good or bad performance, but we are is a team. It is not a problem that everybody say our performance is bad. The important thing is we are united and will nor compere to each other. Theater and music is a different concept, Seo. So here we have to support each other and hope the programm will success. We will not make a new atmosphere of the charity programm when you do not participate in this programm.”

Seona still very afraid.

“How is it?” Raka looked at Seona with full of hope.

Seona confused abaout that. “Okay, I will do it the best for the unity of the team.”

“Yes! We would like to wait your performance tomorrow!”

And finally the day Seona and TWBB team wait for came true. Everybody who prepared the charity already arrived at the orphanage. They helped each other to make this charity success. Seona, the one who played piano, she was helping Raka to carry the the piano into the stage.

“Seo, you can. You can do it. Believe it.” Damai suddenly came beside Seona and tapped her shoulder. Seona just smiled to calm her self. She was very excited but she was afraid too. “What if the children do not like her performance? What if they do not want to listen to the music she plays?” These questions always kept inside in her mind.

After they gave the story books to every children, Seona suddenly felt very afraid because this was the time when the theater team gave their performance. Many questions about what if she failed or something like that appreared again in her mind. But she believed again that she would do that.

And after the theater team showed its performance, it was the time when Seona would show her performance. She was very afraid, again.

“You can do it. Believe it. It is not the first time you show your performance, right?” Raka tried to sparks her spirit and Seona just nodded and smiled.

And then Seona walked to the stage and she took a bow. Every people who stayed there gave applouse to greet Seona. And then she started to play the first song. When the first song was played, everyone in the room was dazzling with Seona performance. But when the third song was played, one by one children went to somewhere. They did not listen to what Seona played. Seona looked into the audiences and she was so afraid. Her finger became so rigid and she did not know how to get back the time. Her body became so cold and her sweat started to flow in her body. Her eyes got bigger than before and she was really did not know how to controll it. The room became so quiet and Seona’s eyes tried to find where Raka and Damai stood. She really needed Raka and Damai’s help. The thing that she was afraid before and she did not wanted to happen now like a bad dream which came true.

Seona wanted to finish this session, but she could not. Her finger wanted to stop playing the piano, and she was about to walk out from this room. Her tears started to flow. She could not do this.

But Raka and Damai suddenly walked to the stage with the other members of TWBB and they bought some instruments like pan, frying pan and the other. And they started to sing a song that everyone knew it. And Damai hold Seona’s hand and lead her to the center of the stage. And then they sang a a song together.

“If you afraid of doing everything new, just tell us. We will help you. We are a team. One unity. Maybe we are busy to prepare everything based our duty, but we are here to help you. We try to complete each other because even tough we have a different duty, we are a team and we must support each other.” Said Damai to Seona.

Seona and the TWBB team sang together on a stage with the children with full of happiness.

Although we are different, but we have the same goal, the unity is the key of success.
